Today Host Savannah Guthrie, Family Facing Worst Nightmare As Mom Is Missing

84-year-old Nancy Guthrie is missing from her home in Arizona. Savannah Guthrie was absent from her duties on the Today show so she could join her family in Arizona as they await news about their mother’s disappearance. Police held a news conference in which they offered a few more details about Guthrie’s mother.

First of all, the police and family were clear that Nancy does not have any cognitive decline. She is of sound mind. Authorities did point out that she does have some mobility limitations that are due to age and other issues. After examining the home for clues, police shared that they are sure a crime has been committed.

Police believe that Nancy Guthrie was possibly abducted from her home while she slept. It was noted that she did not go willingly. Details about what they found at the home were not revealed due to the ongoing investigation. They assured the public that they were committed to being thorough and are reviewing camera recordings and speaking to neighbors.

There are currently no new reports indicating that Nancy has been located as the investigation and search continue.

She Needs Lifesaving Medication

Police and Savannah Guthrie’s co-host Jenna Bush Hager shared with the public that Nancy Guthrie is in need of medication that she cannot go 24 hours without. Sheriff Chris Nanos said, “This is an 84-year-old lady who suffers from some physical ailments, has some physical challenges, is in need of medication — medication that, if she doesn’t have in 24 hours, it could be fatal. So we make a plea to anyone who knows anything about this, who has seen something, heard something, to contact us. Call 911. We don’t we don’t need another bad, tragic ending. We need some help.”

The Sheriff also later confirmed that a homicide team is working the case now. Someone asked whether or not the disappearance could have something to do with a threat that Savannah could have possibly received. Police said they are exploring every avenue, but have no report of Savannah having any threats made toward her.
