Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Kidnapping Has Shocking Suspect
Today show host Savannah Guthrie has been facing her worst nightmare as her mother continues to be missing. Nancy Guthrie went missing on Saturday night after her family dropped her off at home. Savannah’s sister is the last one who saw their 84-year-old mother before her strange disappearance. Now, time is critical, and news outlet TMZ shared that there could be a very shocking suspect in the case. What are the latest developments in the case of Nancy Guthrie?
Latest Developments In Case Of Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mother
TMZ has shared two very interesting updates regarding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. Yesterday, they revealed being emailed an unverified ransom note. The note demanded a large sum of Bitcoin for the return of Nancy. The news outlet turned the information over to Arizona police. Police have not confirmed if the note was legit or a fake.
Now, another report by Ashleigh Banfield, who is an independent journalist, reveals that an unknown source with the police in Arizona told her that Tommaso Cioni is a suspect in the case. Cioni is Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law, married to her sister Annie. Banfield also said that Annie’s car was seized in connection with the case.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office spoke with TMZ and said, “We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results. We are not confirming the car being seized, we are unsure where that reporter is getting that information.”

More Details Revealed In Case
Now, four days after Nancy Guthrie went missing, more details are slowly emerging. On Tuesday, NewsNation shared photos of what appears to be a blood trail outside of Nancy’s home in Tucson.
It has also been noted that the multiple cameras at the home were smashed. Dr. Bryanna Fox, a former FBI special agent in the Bureau’s Behavioral Science Unit and now a criminology professor at the University of South Florida, says that the suspect is most likely a stranger, not a family member. There are reports of forced entry, and a family member would not need to do that.
Fox went on to say, “This was not just a random selection of the victim. This was probably a person or a group of people that selected her, probably cased her pattern of life, what time she goes to sleep, knew that she didn’t have security, knew that she lived alone and would be sleeping alone.”
Police have said it is a race against time to find Nancy Guthrie. She relies on medication that should be taken consistently. Without the meds, it could be fatal for the mother of three.
The FBI has joined the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. Savannah Guthrie has asked the public to pray and help bring her mother home.
