‘Y&R’ Christian LeBlanc Breaks Silence On Shocking Cancer Diagnosis

Young and the Restless star Christian LeBlanc who plays Michael Baldwin on the soap broke his silence about his shocking cancer diagnosis. He’s publicly speaking out for the first time about his cancer battle. Keep reading to find out more about what he has and if he’s been treated.

Christian LeBlanc breaks silence on cancer diagnosis

Fan favorite Christian LeBlanc on The Young and the Restless talked publicly for the first time about his cancer diagnosis. WWLTV shared an interview with LeBlanc in which he detailed his symptoms and what type of cancer he has.

The actor revealed he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, which is considered a common cancer. It is the same cancer affecting Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise.

Christian revealed, “I was diagnosed around June at St. John’s Providence Hospital [in Santa Monica, CA]. I’ve never spent a day in the hospital in my 65 years until this year.”

He had weird symptoms that made him go get checked out. In fact, fans pointed out that his eye was acting wonky. On top of that, the wedding ring he wore as Michael Baldwin was slipping easily off his finger. Plus, he was having nosebleeds.

When he adhered to fan warnings he went to his eye doctor who sent him to a specialist. They found a tumor in his sinus cavity that was pushing on his optic nerve.

He lost 35 pounds in only two months. So, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor, was admitted to the hospital and had immunotherapy.

Now, he can proudly say he is in remission. He beat the cancer.

Will he be back on the show?

After going through his cancer battle and losing so much weight, many fans wonder if he will be back on the set of The Young and the Restless. The answer is absolutely. Michael Baldwin, who has been on the show since 1991,  is not going anywhere. In fact, he will be back on screens for the annual Thanksgiving show.

So after being missing from the soap since July, his comeback will be happening soon.

Christian LeBlanc is not the only actor on The Young and the Restless to be dealing with cancer. Actor Eric Braeden has also been fighting cancer. He had bladder cancer and is doing well. Eric also has no plans to retire anytime soon. Plus, Christian’s character Michael has also gone through cancer.

Both actors are healthy and love their acting roles on the soap.
