‘GH’ Chad Duell Is Leaving, How Will Michael Exit Soap?

General Hospital fans are still upset over Kelly Monaco being killed off the soap. Now, they have to say goodbye to another fan favorite. Chad Duell announced last month that he was leaving the show after 14 years. The big question now is how will he make his grand exit. How Will Chad Duell’s Character Be Written Out Of General Hospital?

General Hospital fans are having to prepare themselves for another fan-favorite exit. Chad Duell is leaving his role as Michael Corinthos. Now that his exit has been confirmed, many wonder how he will be written off the show.

There are a lot of options for him to leave including going overseas to work or he could act like his father and decide to try and get full custody of Amelia from Willow. When Drew manages to win her the case, Michael could decide to grab the kids and go on the run.

There are other ways he could go as well. However, since Executive Producer Frank Valentini confirmed Chad’s exit and said there are no plans to recast at this time one likely way to get rid of Michael Corinthos is to have him simply vanish.

Nobody will know where he is or what happened. Drew will get blamed for his disappearance and nobody will know what happened to him until he suddenly reappears in Port Charles. Valentini said when Chad exits the show in early 2025 it will be a great story for Michael and his family.

If that happens who knows who could come back as Michael?

There are several options for who could return as Michael Corinthos. Robert Adamson, Bold & Beautiful actor Darin Brooks or Days of Our Lives’ Jay Kenneth Johnson are all options that could assume the role.

However, Chad Duell himself could return. In his farewell speech on social media, he said it’s not goodbye but see you later. Everyone knows in the world of soaps anything is possible.

Chad Duell shared the sad news that he is leaving General Hospital on Instagram. He shared a cast photo and said,

After many incredible years with General Hospital, I’ve decided to step away from the show. This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life. I’m beyond grateful to Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey.

Chad went on to thank all his fans for all their support over the years. He concluded with, “This isn’t a goodbye—it’s a see you later. Much love, Chad”
