Is Maurice Benard Leaving General Hospital?

After a recent post on Instagram, fans want to make sure that their favorite character Sonny Corinthos played by Maurice Benard is not leaving General Hospital. 

The post featured a video of him and his son Joshua sitting in the car both wearing dark sunglasses and singing. Maurice captioned the post, “Next year we’re coming to a city near you

The father-son duo were singing “Like a Rolling Stone” by Bob Dylan. The hilarious post was of course a joke but it didn’t stop fans from joining in on the fun.

Some fans told them they shouldn’t tease and it would be a real treat to see them out on the road together.

Another fan said they love the relationship that Maurice has with his family and told them to keep singing.

Some fans noted they want Joshua to return to General Hospital as Adam.

So, while the video was quite entertaining for fans, General Hospital viewers need not worry. Maurice is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Speaking On Mental Health

Maurice Benard is a huge advocate for mental health. In fact, just today he shared a quote on Instagram Stories reminding everyone to remember how far they have come. He included a green ribbon in honor of suicide awareness month.

He himself has struggled with mental health issues and is open about that in hopes of helping others along the way.

Maurice even has a podcast, State of Mind, in which he talks often about the struggles people face. He is trying to let everyone know it’s okay to get help. Maurice has also sought help in the past and continues to work through issues he may have lingering today.

While he suffers from mental illness in real life, his character Sonny Corinthos also suffers from being bipolar.
