Soap operas kill fan favorites off all the time just to have their characters miraculously return from the dead years later. Fans have been so distraught over Kelly Monaco being fired from General Hospital that they have started petitions to serve Sam McCall.

Now that her days are numbered could writers change their minds and appease fans by rehiring Kelly? The newest plot twist on GH revealed that Lulu has a blood clot. So, her chances of waking up and surviving even with part of Sam’s liver are very slim. It seems writers were giving her the chance to change her mind about going under the knife.

However, most likely Sam will still vow to go through with the surgery and try to save Lulu’s life. Here is where things could get tricky. Somehow, someway, maybe Sam doesn’t really die. Maybe she’s slipped a drug that makes her look dead and someone, maybe even Cyrus, will take her and keep her captive.

What if writers were pulling a page out of Bold and the Beautiful’s playbook? Just recently, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) was even doing interviews about leaving the show. Her character had seemingly been killed off the soap. However, as her body was about to be cremated, Deacon realized the body was not Sheila’s.

Other Characters Have Come Back From The Dead

There are other characters even on General Hospital who have defied death. Jason Morgan is one of them. He was killed off. Sam and fans pined for him for years thinking he was dead. Fans cheered as the ABC writers found a way to resurrect Jason Morgan several years later.
