‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Joe Amabile Gives Update Post Brain Surgery
Bachelor in Paradise fan favorite Joe Amabile shared with fans a few weeks ago that doctors discovered a brain tumor. He had gone and had a Prenuvo scan completed, and unfortunately, there was a lesion discovered in his brain. Following the scan, he went for a brain MRI, which confirmed the mass was an early-stage glioma. At that time, Joe shared that he was going to have surgery in two weeks. Since announcing the tumor, he and his wife Serena Pitt have been very open about the diagnosis. Now, he underwent brain surgery on Wednesday. On Thursday, he and Serena shared an update with fans.
BIP Joe Amabile Talked Openly About Tumor
Bachelor in Paradise alum Joe Amabile talked more about his tumor on the July 16 episode of their podcast, Not Married to This. He shared that he didn’t really think he was having symptoms before being diagnosed. Looking back on it, he’s not sure because some symptoms can be self-induced, but said that’s a “difficult territory.” He went on to talk about his surgery, which took place on August 5.
Joe said, “The surgery is very dangerous. It’s a craniotomy, which is scary. It’s a serious surgery.” Serena went on to add that the tumor is “slow-growing, but the likelihood of it growing into something aggressive or problematic is very high.” So they were both on board with getting it taken care of ASAP. Prior to surgery, they thanked fans for their love and support as they go on this journey.
