‘GH’ Sonny Corinthos’ Health Crisis, Cyrus’ Next Hospital Victim?

General Hospital has been seeing some shocking comings and goings over the past few months. Fans favorites and longtime cast members have been eliminated from the show and it is leading to a big murder mystery for Port Charles residents. Sam McCall and Dex Heller were already taken out by Cyrus and he no doubt has more victims on his radar. This week, mob boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was clutching his chest in what appears to be a heart attack. If he’s admitted to the hospital for testing or treatment will he end up being Cyrus’ next hospital victim? Are writers taking down another longtime show veteran?

General Hospital writers have teased that nobody is safe as 2025 nears. Could this also put mob boss Sonny Corinthos in danger?

Over the week of Christmas, fans have seen Sonny grab his chest in pain twice now. It appears he’s headed for a major health crisis. In the latest tease, Sonny is working out in the boxing ring when another painful moment takes over. Will he find himself in the hospital getting treatment for a heart attack or at the very least testing?

If Sonny is dealing with a heart issue already, it wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary to see him go into cardiac arrest. But would it be from an actual heart attack or Cryus injecting another patient with digitalis? If Sonny is weak and vulnerable will Cyrus strike again and take the mob boss out for good?

With February sweeps coming, anything continues to be possible in Port Charles. Sonny has been an icon on the soap for decades. Could his run be coming to an end? Even if the writers do not kill him off, his life will change drastically and begin to possibly create a path for retirement for Maurice Benard.

Writers said, “Sonny is hit with an existential crisis that has him re-examining his personal and professional lives. He’ll be forced to make a big decision about his future, and anything that impacts the reigning mob boss of Port Charles will impact everyone on the canvas.”

Is He Really Leaving The Soap?

Sonny Corinthos’ health crisis may not kill him but he will be forced to make some changes. If he survives the heart issues and escapes Cyrus’ (Jeff Kober) digitalis rampage, things will still never be the same.

Some think that Sonny will groom daughter Kristina (Kate Mansi) to take over the business. She already seems to be following in his footsteps.

Right now there is no definite word on whether Sonny will be killed off in 2025. However, writers have made it clear that things will change and nobody is safe.
