Geary was then paired with Genie Francis as Laura Webber. The two became a phenomenon. General Hospital Anthony Geary Mourned By Genie Francis

General Hospital Anthony Geary passed away after complications from a scheduled surgery that occurred just three days before his death. TV Insider was the first to confirm his death, which occurred on December 14. Since the news of his death circulated on the internet with shock and sadness, several costars of Geary have spoken out.

One of the most touching so far has been from Genie Francis. The two will forever remain one of the most beloved couples to have appeared on daytime television. Their television wedding had more than 30 million viewers. Many fans are already requesting the show re-air the wedding as a tribute to Geary.

As for Genie Francis, she is clearly mourning the loss of her former on-screen love. She shared a touching message on social media on Monday. She said, “This morning I woke up and went into my husband’s arms. In my sleep my life was flashing before me and I was afraid of death. An hour later, I received a call from Frank Valentini, he told me tony died. I immediately felt remorse, I hadn’t spoken to him in years, but I felt his life end in my sleep last night, and with it a big part of me, and mine.”

Francis continued to talk about how talented an actor he was. She talked about his passion and his blunt abilities to tell the truth. She concluded her statement with, “Working with him was always exciting. You never knew what might happen. He spoiled me for leading men for the rest of my life. I am crushed, I will miss him terribly, but I was so lucky to be his partner. Somehow, somewhere, we are connected to each other because I felt him leave last night. Good night sweet prince, good night.”

Tony’s Husband Also Mourning Sad Loss

Tony Geary’s husband is also mourning the loss of his love, Anthony Geary. He noted how Tony always spoke fondly of Genie Francis and Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos). He considered them both dear friends.

Executive Producer Frank Valentini also issued a statement about Geary’s passing. He shared on the official General Hospital Instagram page words honoring the late actor. Valentini said, “The entire #GeneralHospital family is heartbroken over the news of Tony Geary’s passing. Tony was a brilliant actor and set the bar that we continue to strive for. His legacy, and that of Luke Spencer’s, will live on through the generations of #GH cast members who have followed in his footsteps. We send our sincerest sympathies to his husband, Claudio, family, and friends. May he rest in peace. – Frank Valentini”

Fans and other co-stars chimed in with their condolences as well. Anthony Geary lived a life to be proud of and will be missed by fans and all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
