‘General Hospital’ Planned On Resurrection Of Luke Before Untimely Death

General Hospital seemingly planned on resurrecting the legendary Luke Spencer before Anthony Geary’s untimely death. As much as fans hated it at the time, Luke was already presumed dead back in 2022. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) returned on New Year’s Day to announce that Luke had tragically died in a cable car explosion in Austria. His funeral was a huge event. However, just like many before and after him, nobody is ever really dead in the soap world. Many have returned from the grave in recent months, and there is a big clue Luke may have been next.

General Hospital Wanted Luke Spencer Back

General Hospital fans are currently mourning the real-life passing of actor Anthony Geary. He is one of the most famous and beloved characters of daytime television. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 78 after suffering from complications following a planned surgery that occurred three days earlier.

TV Insider shared news of his death, along with some interesting information. The news outlet shared that the day before Geary was scheduled for surgery, he filmed what would become his final acting scenes. It was reported that Tony filmed a scene with GH villain Anders Hove, who played Cesar Faison. The scene was reportedly for an unnamed upcoming project.

While it was not confirmed that the scene was for General Hospital, it seems to be the only thing that makes sense. It remains to be seen if Luke’s appearance could have been a memory or another shocking resurrection. Fans have been convinced for months that Cesar Faison, who is also supposed to be dead on the soap, is really alive and well and plotting more evil for Port Charles.

Currently, it’s unknown when his final scene will air.

How Will GH Honor Anthony Geary?

Since there was already an epic send-off for Luke Spencer in 2022, how will the show pay tribute to the late actor? Some believe that if he is really alive, it will be a race to save him from captivity. Could Faison be the one holding him captive? Perhaps in one final blow for his loved ones left behind, Luke may really die when rescue attempts are too late.

Some fans feel that perhaps the show should re-air a special of Luke and Laura’s wedding. He and Genie Francis were one of the most loved couples in daytime television.

Either way, the show will no doubt find some way to honor Anthony Geary. Fellow co-stars, including Genie, have already spoken out, sharing their grief with fans. Frank Valentini also shared a touching tribute on Instagram about the actor’s passing.
