Jinger Duggar Shares Why She Skipped Parents’ Christmas For 10 Years

Counting On alum Jinger Duggar clarifies the growing concerns among fans following the Duggar family’s holiday week. It’s widely known that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar would hold huge gatherings in their Arkansas home with their kids and in-laws.

However, it’s been quite some time since Jinger last attended the annual event, and it’s starting to cause speculation that she’s distancing herself from everyone. Keep reading to see her explanation.

Counting On: Jinger Breaks Silence About Skipping Holidays With Family

Jinger and Jeremy recently uploaded a new podcast video talking about the Duggar family holidays. Jinger took the opportunity to explain her side as to why she hasn’t been spending Christmas with her family in Arkansas. She said, “We have not been back to the Duggar house since we’ve been married, in nine years, for Christmas, and we’re going this year.”

According ot the Counting On alum, Christmas is the only time of the year when Jeremy’s family is all together. She added that the Duggars are always together more often than the Vuolos.

She added, “We went back one year, three times in one year, for weddings. So you’re like, ‘Oh, we weren’t there for the holidays,’ but we were there for multiple weddings.”

Jinger admitted that she missed spending Christmas with her family in Arkansas, which is why she finally decided to go this year. She was also glad that Felicity and Evangeline got to experience hanging out with their cousins at their age.

Jinger & Siblings Still Have Christmas Activities

Jinger also revealed in her latest podcast that she and her siblings are still coming up with Christmas activities despite their distances. The Counting On alum recalled that they would exchange gifts when they were younger, and it’s something they’ve continued doing over the years.

Jinger revealed, “Back when I was at the big house, there were some years where we’d be like, everybody has to wait. We go down together, and then it’s a free-for-all, and everybody just opens gifts, and it’s chaos.”

Jinger drew Jana’s name in this year’s Duggar family exchange gift, though she didn’t exactly reveal the gift she bought for her. Meanwhile, Jeremy pulled Jim Bob’s name, and Jinger suggested that he get him “T-shirts or socks, or a new package of underwear.”

Jinger ended her podcast by talking about how much she loves visiting Arkansas. She can’t deny how difficult it is to navigate in their family because of how many siblings she has. She continued, “Everybody wants to connect with you. It can be so tough to juggle all of that because when you have so many siblings and their families.”
