‘Y&R’ Colin Returns: Tristan Rogers’ Surprise Appearance After Death
Young & the Restless shocked fans with news that Tristan Rogers will be making his final television appearance this week. Rogers sadly passed away from cancer at the age of 79 on August 15, 2025. His loss is not just felt by Y&R but also by the cast of General Hospital. He played Robert Scorpio for many years and also recently made a final appearance on ABC just weeks before his death. Now, CBS shared his surprising return as Colin will air this week. Plus, the show shared a touching tribute to this incredible actor as well.
Young & The Restless Reveals Final Surprise Appearance By Tristan Rogers
On the official Young & the Restless Instagram page, Jess Walton shared a special tribute to Tristan Rogers. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. The caption on the post read,
“On behalf of the entire Y&R family, Jess Walton pays tribute to her longtime scene partner, Tristan Rogers, who makes his final television appearance on tomorrow’s episode of The Young and the Restless. As we revisit one of their most memorable scenes — an emotional moment between Jill and Colin from 2014— we are reminded of the lasting impact Tristan brought to our show, both on and off screen. He will forever be missed.”
When Cane Ashby made his return, he revealed that Colin Atkinson had died six months prior. However, in some way, Colin will make an appearance on Tuesday, August 26. This is the final television appearance by the beloved actor.

Rogers Time On Both Soaps
Tristan Rogers began playing Robert Scorpio in 1980 and continued the role until 1992. From that point on, he made return appearances on the soap. He even acted in both General Hospital and Young & the Restless in 2015 and 2016. He returned to Port Charles in 2018 and then continued on in recurring roles from 2019-2024. Thankfully, fans saw him once more in July 2025 as Jason took his daughter, Sasha, and granddaughter Daisy to live with him in Paris.
He ended his time as Colin on Y&R in 2019. However, he was still talked about, and now with Billy Flynn reprising the role of Cane, he was brought up again.
Stars from both soaps have been paying tribute to the late actor by sharing their own memories of Tristan and revealing what he meant to them.
