‘Young & Restless’ Fans Think Writers Destroyed Soap Amid Disrespectful Massacre

Young & The Restless fans are livid that writers chose to end not one but three characters rather suddenly. Everyone loves a good murder mystery, but the route the writers chose to go and whom they decided to ax has ruffled a lot of feathers. It seems to be the massacre nobody saw coming, and while it did provide a shock factor, fans hoped for a better ending for one particular actor. Some loyal fans of more than fifty years are speaking out about how this situation has been handled. The whole thing is leaving many to wonder if writers can save the long-running soap and redeem themselves with die-hard fans.

Young & Restless Fans Disgusted Over Writers’ Latest Move

While it’s known to Young & The Restless fans that Conner Floyd is leaving to pursue another acting gig on Days of Our Lives, fans are outraged that writers killed Chance Chancellor off the way they did. Many have taken to social media to express how unhappy and disgusted they are that Chance didn’t get the send-off he deserves.

Fans think writers could have had Chance leave town or provide another exit that didn’t leave him shot and six feet under. Not only was he a popular character, but he was also the last of the Chancellor’s in Genoa City. It’s the end of an era, and fans do not like it.

Plus, some fans feel writers have missed even more opportunities to do this character justice and also provide some dramatic scenes on the long-running soap. Someone expressed that they should have shown Billy telling Abby about Chance dying.

Another fan seconded their thoughts and said, “Why even kill him off if you’re not gonna use it to your advantage? What’s the point of these important scenes happening off camera, when you could milk it and give your audience some good drama and acting for a change?”

What Else Are Fans Saying About The Blatant Disrespect?

Young & The Restless fans are also saying that writers have taken things too far, killing off so many men in a short amount of time. Killing Chance was the nail in the coffin, so to speak, that has fans livid.

Many would love to see Jill and Nina return to mourn Chance, but feel that it’s highly unlikely thanks to the writers.

As far as Chance being shot, fans continue to voice their disgust at how his death has been handled. Here is what some of them are saying on social media:

• “Chance is the last of the Chancellor’s ? Josh G just ended that prominent family #YR.”
• “Killing Chance Chancellor off this way is so disrespectful to the shows history and longtime fans but that’s the JG way 😭🔥 #YR.”
• “Actually seeing Chance dying on Y&R was more jarring than seeing the stills. I was yelling at the screen: NOOOOOOOOOO.”
• “Killing off Chance, one of the last remaining Chancellors, a #YR legacy family since it’s inception is inexcusable.”

Most fans agree that writers are destroying the Chancellor family legacy. Is there any way for writers to redeem themselves from this?

One of the only options would be to have Chance be miraculously alive, which isn’t impossible in the world of soaps. Although the character would have to be recast since Conner Floyd is moving over to DOOL.
