Along with playing hockey professionally, Nic gained fame by dating and being engaged to reality star Savannah Chrisley. Sadly, Nic lost his life at the young age of 29. Keep reading to find out more about this tragedy.

Nic Kerdiles died in a motorcycle crash

Nick Kerdiles was driving through a residential area just north of Nashville around 3:30 a.m. The wreck took place at the intersection of Wheless Street and 14th Avenue North. He reportedly ran a stop sign while riding his Indian motorcycle and crashed into the side of a BMW SUV. While the driver of the vehicle was okay, Nic was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later passed away.

WKRN television station reported the accident and the identity of the deceased driver. Police reports indicate that neither driver showed any signs of being impaired. No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the BMW.

Kerdiles had shared two things on Instagram Stories Friday prior to his untimely death. One video showed him working out hard at a D1 facility. He often worked out and shared videos and photos with fans.

The second post he made before his death was a photo of him on his motorcycle and captioned the photo, “night rider.” He was wearing a helmet in the photo.

He recently talked about family and not taking time for granted

Nic visited his family at the beginning of September. Little did he know that on September 23 he would lose his life. In his post about going home to see family, he shared photos and videos of good times and memories. He also said,

Getting to go home this past weekend and seeing my family was something that I need more than I knew.

Time in this life goes by quicker and quicker each day. I will never again take the these days with them for granted and my advice is the same for everyone else. Love is unconditional, and it’s rare to find in this world. I’m so thankful that I have parents, siblings, nieces and nephews that love me back the way they do. I’ve already booked my next trip back home and I cannot wait to see them again soon! Love you guys all so much! ❤️❤️❤️

Tributes and condolences are beginning to pour out about Nic’s passing. The Anaheim Ducks are just one of many to pay their respects. He played for them from 2014-2017.

So far, Savannah has yet to speak out about Nic’s death.

RIP Nic. Thoughts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
