‘Perfect Match’ Reason Clayton Echard Dumped Rachel Recchia Again

Who would have thought that Rachel Recchia would ever give Clayton Echard another chance? The two appeared on the Netflix series Perfect Match. They did talk and try to make things work. However, Clayton dumped her. She says he dumped her three times. Nobody really knew the reason why he felt strongly that they were not compatible. Now, she’s dishing on that reason, and it’s shocking.

Why Did Clayton Cut Rachel Again On Perfect Match?

Everyone wants to know why former Bachelor Clayton Echard would dump former Bachelorette Rachel Recchia three times. When he did interviews about their time on the show, he wouldn’t give the reason behind his decision that they just were not compatible. He told Nick Viall that he wanted to tell one of Rachel’s friends so they could pass it on to her.

Now, Rachel is doing interviews and spilling the tea and sharing the real reason he ditched her. She appeared on the What’s the Reality? podcast and opened up about what she found out. She said he reached out to her friends, and they tried to call him all day, but he wouldn’t answer. Finally, he called her himself.

Rachel revealed that the reason he thinks they would never be a Perfect Match is because she isn’t a “gym girlie.” She said,

“So, the reason why Clayton feels we are incompatible and that he was so sure [of] is because I am not a gym girlie. He wants someone who lives a very active lifestyle and goes to the gym and hits the weights — and [that’s] not me. It’s never going to be me.”

She went on to say, “I like to travel and to shop, and sit at the bar. You know, I go on a hot girl walk. He wants to clarify, though, and I will give him this. It’s not that he thinks I have a bad body, [but] it’s that my lifestyle of not liking to hike or go to the gym is not compatible with him.”

Why Woudn’t He Just Tell Her?

Rachel also revealed that Clayton was worried the public would body shame her or say she’s lazy. He didn’t want any public scrutiny.

Of course, fans of The Bachelor know that Rachel and Clayton met during his season of the show. She, along with Gabby Windey and Susie Evans, made it to the final three. Clayton was intimate with both Rachel and Gabby. However, he told them he loved Susie more and dumped them both. Rachel was crushed at the time.

It didn’t seem like she would ever give him a chance again. She was shocked he was even there, looking for love on Perfect Match. 

Needless to say, it doesn’t seem like she will be making that mistake again. Rachel admits she was humiliated.
