‘Golden Bachelor’ Spoilers: Women Slam Mel Owens Over Age Comments

The Golden Bachelor, featuring former NFL player Mel Owens, begins Wednesday night on ABC. After he was selected, he began to do a few interviews, one led him into some trouble. During a podcast, Owens said that he would only date women aged 45-60. Anyone older than that would be sent home. Many thought he would be replaced after that, and he wasn’t. So, host Jesse Palmer is taking the bull by the horns and putting it out there for everyone to hear Mel’s explanation. Plus, the women are not going to stand for the insulting words either. Owens was slammed by the women over his comments. What will fans be seeing Wednesday night?
Golden Bachelor Mel Owens Cornered About Rude Comments
Golden Bachelor Mel Owens has some explaining to do when it comes to his comments on age. There are 23 women on his season, and their ages range from 58-77. Owens says he regrets what he said and just hopes people, especially the ladies on this season, will give him a chance.
In a clip shared by the network, Jesse flat-out asks Owens about what he thinks about age. He asked him if age is just a number. Owens said the spirit has no age. So Palmer clarified that he’s open to dating women older than him and over 60. When he says “of course,” Jesse reminds him that’s not what he said on the podcast.

The clip then goes to the ladies talking about his previous statement. Some were stunned and hadn’t heard about the insulting words from the man of the hour. Others pointed it out when they got out of their limo.
The preview also shows the women on stage roasting Mel, and of course, they couldn’t resist using his age comments as fair game.

What Else Can Fans Expect
When the Golden Bachelor premieres Wednesday night, fans are going to see the women supporting one another as they all hope to find love with Mel Owens. Clips from the season were revealed on Instagram, and it looks like Mel finds chemistry with many of them. One lucky lady is lying in the water on the beach kissing Owens.
In an interview, Mel shared that he believes he has ESP, which guides him. He said, “It’s an exchange of energy. There’s electromagnetic energy being exchanged all over, and if you’re in tune with it, you can feel it. When someone walks into the room, you look at them and make an evaluation. I’ve learned to trust the intuition, which is your extrasensory perception. You have a better understanding of human nature.”
As for marriage, Owens says he is not necessarily looking to marry again but just wants to find love.
