A General Hospital star is breaking their silence about the ICE shooting in Minneapolis that has gained national attention. Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by a federal ICE agent after failing to comply with orders. Instead, the woman spoke to the agent, then started to drive away at the urging of her partner, who was the passenger in the vehicle. Upon driving away, it appears that the agent was struck by the vehicle, which prompted his response to open fire. The shooting has created an outcry from activists protesting ICE’s presence in cities around the country. Following the death of Good, one GH star has spoken out. What did they share? Keep reading to get all the details.
General Hospital Actor Speaks Out Regarding ICE Shooting
General Hospital actor Stephen A. Smith has been on the show periodically since 2016. His character works closely with mob boss Sonny Corinthos, portrayed by Maurice Benard. Aside from occasionally being an actor on the daytime drama, Smith is also a respected sports commentator. He also has his own show on YouTube called Straight Shooter with Stephen A. Smith.
After the deadly Minneapolis shooting, Smith weighed in on the shooting, and after his words were not fully expressed by the media, he clarified his thoughts on Straight Shooter. Smith noted that from a legal perspective, the agent was fully justified in shooting the woman. However, the media didn’t convey his entire speech. They left out important parts in which he condemned the shooting from a moral and ethical view.
An angry Smith doubled down on his thoughts regarding the shooting, noting that some were misconstruing his words and even trying to get him fired. He specifically called out Keith Olbermann for purposely leaving out important information.

Smith Doubles Down On His Real Stance Regarding Shooting
Smith said, “I’m talking legality when I’m talking justification. Nothing else. Everything else about it is wrong. Inhumane, morally and ethically wrong. Period. That’s my position. But you’re trying to paint a different picture. And I don’t appreciate that. Not with something this serious.”
Smith also pointed out that when a law enforcement officer gives someone orders, they need to comply. He said, “In the moment when you are dealing with law enforcement officials, you obey their orders so you can get home safely. Renee Good did not do that.”
The shooting continues to be under investigation.
