‘General Hospital’ Drew’s Tragedy Kicks Off Monica Death Story?

General Hospital fans have wondered when the show will address the fact that actress Leslie Charleson passed away in real life earlier this year. Her character, Monica Quartermaine, has been bedridden for quite some time with deteriorating health issues. It’s shocking to see that Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) cared so much about seeing Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) lying bleeding out. She even wanted to ride with him in the ambulance. Now, she wants to protect Monica from knowing that Drew has been shot and is fighting for his life. Will this end up kicking off what leads to Monica’s passing?

General Hospital Has To Address Monica’s Health Soon

Tracy was more upset than anyone could have imagined when she found Drew. She even referred to him as her nephew to the paramedics. In previews for Thursday’s show, Tracy is seen saying that Monica can not know anything about this. Chances are that the exact opposite will happen.

As Drew Cain fights for his life in the operating room or even possibly meets his maker after Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) steps in to help “save” him, Monica will eventually find out that her adopted son has been shot. She will either see it on the news or someone will innocently not realize it was being kept from her and spill the beans. Perhaps this will be Danny. He might even mention the restraining orders that Drew had issued to the majority of Scout’s family members.

Either way, this could be what does Monica in. She could get so upset that she has a heart attack or stroke. This would be a way for the writers to say goodbye to Monica and finally give her the proper send-off she deserves.

At some point, the writers have to address that Leslie Charleson is no longer alive, and there is no chance they would recast the character of Monica.

Will Drew Survive, Or Will Portia Finish Him?

It’s yet to be seen if Drew Cain will survive the two bullets he took to the back. It’s been noted that the bullets are close to his spine. When Portia said she would scrub into the surgery, the look in her eyes made it seem like she had plans of her own for revenge. Will she purposely make a wrong move to paralyze him? Or, will she try to just finish what the first killer tried to do?

Regardless of whether or not Drew survives, there is still the big mystery about who shot him. Many believe it was Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). However, would writers really make it that obvious?

Chances are, it’s going to be someone nobody would ever suspect. There’s always the possibility that Brennan’s double agent, Colette, is the culprit. Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) could have ordered Drew’s demise. However, she would most likely be a better shot considering she’s WSB.

Another possibility that seems to fit rather perfectly is Danny. He has short hair like the shadow. He has access to guns through Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Plus, he was trying to get Rocco to go see Scout with him since he had not been served a restraining order yet. He’s bothered that Drew would keep him away from his sister. Drew even wanted Danny arrested for kidnapping. Eliminating Drew would be great for Danny and the rest of Scout’s family.
