Catherine O’Hara’s manager confirmed to People that the actress sadly passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. The cause of her death is currently unclear. However, as the hours move forward following her death, more details are slowly emerging.

It’s being said that the Emmy-winning actress recently suffered from a brief illness. Page Six reported that O’Hara was rushed to the hospital in the early morning hours of Friday. Paramedics were called to her home in Brentwood, California, at 4:48 a.m. TMZ was able to retrieve dispatch recordings indicating that O’Hara was having difficulty breathing.

O’Hara was transported to the hospital and was said to be in serious condition. Several hours later, she passed away. Right now, the cause of her death has not been disclosed to the public. However, it was noted that Catherine had a lifelong condition known as Situs inversus. This rare condition is where all of an individual’s organs appear on the opposite side of their body than in the regular position. It is said to be fairly harmless, but it can create complications with diagnosing other issues due to organ location.
