General Hospital fans and cast members continue to mourn the passing of legendary Anthony Geary. The soap opera already honored Geary shortly after his death by airing his final episode as Luke Spencer. However, it’s now been shared that airing the encore episode isn’t all they are doing to honor their late friend and co-worker. On Friday, January 23, GH shared a special one-minute tribute at the end of the episode. The clip is a preview of what’s to come. There will be a part two of the tribute to Tony. When will it air?

General Hospital To Honor Tony Geary One More Time

General Hospital fans were devastated when Luke Spencer left the daytime drama in 2015, but returned for a brief cameo in 2017. Geary and Genie Francis, who plays Laura Collins, were one of the most beloved couples in soap history. Luke and Laura are legendary and are still talked about today.

Sadly, Geary passed away on December 14 at the age of 78 after complications arose from a scheduled surgery. On Friday, the show ended its week by sharing clips of Geary and heartfelt commentary from some of Port Charles’ favorites. Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis), Laura Wright (Carly Spencer), and Genie Francis. Part one of Geary’s tribute ended with Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) and Geary saying goodbye in the show. Fans then see Geary walking off into the night.

Friday’s tribute to Geary isn’t the final farewell. TV Insider shared details revealing there will be a part two. What can fans expect?

When Will Part Two Air?

General Hospital will air an entire episode paying tribute to Tony Geary’s time as Luke Spencer. Geary made his mark in daytime television and even holds the record for the most Daytime Emmy Awards won by any performer. He earned eight wins for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

It’s fitting for the show to take time to honor their friend. Fans can tune in for a special episode airing on February 20, 2026, featuring some of Geary’s most iconic moments as Luke. There will also be some rare moments revealed as well. It appears the tribute will air during the show’s normal time slot in place of a new episode.

Executive Producer Frank Valentini shared his thoughts on Geary’s passing. He said,

“For decades, Tony Geary brought daytime television’s ultimate antihero, Luke Spencer, to life. We wanted to honor Tony and his extraordinary legacy in the most meaningful way possible, and this special episode of General Hospital gives viewers the opportunity to revisit some of Luke’s most iconic adventures and unforgettable moments, along with a few rarely seen ones. And who better to share those memories than the people of Port Charles who knew and loved him?”
