‘General Hospital’ Kirsten Storms Return Date Confirmed, Love Triangle Coming?

Fan favorite Kirsten Storms hasn’t been on General Hospital in months. She took an extended break amid health struggles. But she’s finally returning to the ABC soap after major brain surgery. The actress teased an “incredible” storyline for Maxie. Keep reading to find out more about her return.

Kirsten Storms Returns To General Hospital After Health Scare

Kirsten Storms has played Maxie Jones on General Hospital for over 20 years. She took over the role in 2005. She’s taken numerous breaks over the years to deal with ongoing health issues. Maxie fell into a coma in August so the actress could take an extended break.

During the break from the soap, she moved to Tennessee with Harper, the daughter she shares with her ex-husband, Brandon Barash. Her ex also moved to Tennessee to be near his daughter.

Kirsten Storms had brain surgery in 2021 to remove a cyst. In a follow-up scan last year, the doctors found an aneurysm. The actress planned to remove it, but after consulting with a new neurosurgeon, she changed her mind.

“Maaaaybe you will be seeing me back in Port Charles soon,” she teased on social media in December. She posted an update earlier this week on Instagram. She revealed that she was “back at work” on the set of the ABC soap. “Seriously missing my BugBug though. California doesn’t feel right without her here,” Kirsten Storms wrote about her daughter.

She Teases ‘Incredible’ Storyline

Kirsten Storms’ return date has been confirmed as Thursday, February 12. Maxie is in for some major surprises when she wakes up from the coma. Her dead husband, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is alive. So is her sister-in-law Britt (Kelly Thiebaud.) Nathan’s return puts her relationship with Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) in question.

Furthermore, Maxie’s best friend Lulu (Alexis Havins) has cozied up to Nathan since he returned from the dead. Fans may recall that Maxie spent months blaming Lulu for Nathan’s “death” in 2018.

“I promise you the storyline they have going on until my return to Port Charles is kind of incredible. You guys are gonna freak out, actually,” Kirsten Storms previously teased about her return storyline. It was always the plan for her to return to the soap after dealing with her medical issues.
