‘General Hospital’ New Michael Corinthos Confirmed, Details

General Hospital fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Michael Corinthos (last played by Chad Duell). Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) took matters into her own hands and pushed for the divorce and custody hearing to move full speed ahead. A date has been set for early June, and many urged her to call Michael and let him know what is going on.

As far as everyone knows, nobody did. However, on Tuesday, as the residents of Port Charles walk the red carpet into the Nurses Ball, a man is seen on a private plane watching the event on their phone or tablet. Most assume it’s Michael coming back to take what is his. Only his hands were shown, which raises the biggest question of them all. Who is the actor replacing Chad? Or, will Chad make a shocking return himself?

General Hospital Awaits Return Of Michael Corinthos

General Hospital fans were disappointed when Chad Duell announced last year he was leaving the soap to work on himself and his mental health. When he left, he said that fortunately, writers left him an opening if he chose to return to his role as Michael Corinthos.

While everyone would love for Chad to make a big comeback himself, it seems unlikely that he is ready to make that big leap. In fact, he has been cast in a play.

So, that leaves the big question as to who will step in as Michael Corinthos. Word of Michael getting recast broke when Young & The Restless alum Robert Adamson went to X to rant about not getting a chance to read for the part of Michael, even though he had stepped in before for Duell.

The tweet was deleted quickly, but not before fans were able to take a quick screenshot. This got the rumor mill popping. It could have been to throw everyone off, and he really is taking over the role. Or, it could be he really was angry over the disrespect he felt, not even being given a chance.

If It’s Not Those Two Actors, Who Is It?

So, if not Duell and not Adamson, who could it be? Who is the person behind the recast, then? Soaps She Knows has confirmed Rory Gibson has been selected to replace Duell, according to information obtained by Soaps.com. (The show has been contacted for confirmation.) Ironically, Gibson will have taken Adamson’s place for the second time. Additionally, Gibson replaced Adamson as Noah Newman on The Young and the Restless.

Fans believe they got their first glimpse of the new Michael on Tuesday. A man was seen flying on a private jet, watching the red carpet entrances on their cellular device. The only thing visible was his hand clutching the device. It just so happens this man was watching Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) on the red carpet. Willow was gushing over how blessed she is to be building a future with Drew.

She may think things are going great for her and Drew. However, Michael is about to step in and rock their worlds in true Corinthos fashion. Port Charles is about to get the shock of a lifetime when Michael crashes the Nurses Ball and changes everything.
