‘General Hospital’ Who Is Replacing Chad Duell As Michael Corinthos?

Rumors are flying that General Hospital is replacing fan favorite Chad Duell. He left his role as Michael Corinthos for personal reasons. At the time he said that Executive Producer Frank Valentini left the door open for his return should he decide that is what he wants. However, Michael’s treatment in Germany can’t last forever. So, news broke by an accidental leak that the role of Michael is being recast. Who is going to play this character now?

Is General Hospital Recasting Fan Fave Michael Corinthos?

Up until now, nobody has known for sure what direction General Hospital was going with the role of Michael Corinthos. Chad Duell was a fan favorite and many fans were shook when he announced his departure. However, many held out hope that he would return after he had some time to process his father’s passing and spend quality time with his family.

Showrunners never denied that there was a possibility that down the road Michael Corinthos could be recast if Chad failed to make a comeback. Now, it seems that is the direction they are headed. This week, Robert Adamson who has stepped in as Michael before, shared a tweet on X that had the rumor mill swirling.

In a now-deleted post, Adamson said, “@GeneralHospital Thanks for having me in to read for the recast of Michael. Covered the role not once, not twice, but three times without notice or time to physically prepare. But I don’t even get an opportunity to read.”

So, it seemed obvious that the hunt in on for the next Michael Corinthos. Now, a day later, fans have been speculating about who could possibly take over Chad Duell’s role and do it justice. One actor came to mind.

Who Could Be Taking Over The Role?

Some fans think that Rory Gibson could be the next Michael Corinthos. If he’s not a sure thing it sounds like he is definitely in the running for it. Gibson used to play Noah on The Young and the Restless. Rumors have also swirled that if he doesn’t head to General Hospital he could be making a comeback as Noah.

Why would fans think Rory is the next Michael? On his Instagram Account he has a few notable followers including Willow from GH. Gibson’s follows and is followed back by Katelyn MacMullen (Willow Corinthos) and Holly Gagnier (ex-Jennifer Smith and acting coach to multiple GH stars).

Ironically, Gibson took over the role of Noah on The Young and the Restless from Robert Adamson.

Right now there is no confirmation that Michael Corinthos is definitely getting recast. The network has made no official announcements. However, all signs point to it being true.
