‘General Hospital’ Hints Steve Burton Is Leaving Soap Again

General Hospital fans are already wondering if Steve Burton, who plays Jason Morgan, could be gearing up for another exit from the soap. There are lots of hints that have some worried he’s on his way out. Jason is taking Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Daisy out of town. She’s worried that she and Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) child is being targeted because of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Jason said he’s leaving for a few days, but his emotional goodbyes and cryptic messages have many thinking something is up.

General Hospital Saying Goodbye To Jason?

Are General Hospital writers setting up Jason Morgan for another exit or tragedy to occur? Michael is trusting Jason to get Sasha and Daisy out of Port Charles to keep her safe. Little do they know it was Willow Tait Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) who was behind all the weird happenings with their daughter.

As for Jason, he was seen telling Danny goodbye and that he would be gone for a few days. However, the emotions present in his farewells have many fearful something bigger is about to happen.

While speaking with Danny, he brought up how he feels about Daisy and asked Jason if it reminded him of his past when he left his own family. Tracy Quartermaine also made cryptic comments about things changing. She asked him not to interfere with her plans to get Sonny out of Port Charles. There’s no doubt Jason will feel torn between family and his loyalty to Sonny.

As he looks toward the future and sees all the drastic measures that both Sonny and Michael are taking to protect their loved ones, will he start looking toward protecting his own family? The biggest and most cryptic hint came from Sasha while she and Jason were on a plane. She asked him if he ever stops to think about what he wants.

Many wonder if this will get the wheels turning in his head, and he may decide to start a new life somewhere, maybe even with Daisy. Or will he see that this lifestyle isn’t worth it and decide to step away from Sonny and the mob world?

Something Could Go Terribly Wrong

There is no confirmation that Steve Burton is walking away from the soap so soon. However, the story is there if he chose to leave. And, if he’s not leaving, he could be being set up for a big storyline that fans will not love.

If Steve Burton is not leaving General Hospital, these cryptic messages could still count for something. Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) wants revenge for Natalia’s death and now Marco’s kidnapping. Who’s to say he won’t go with the eye for an eye approach and catch Jason off guard and have him abducted?

It’s entirely possible that Jason is being set up for another absence that is not his choice. It would explain the emotional goodbyes, and it seems as though he’s leaving for good. He could be taken captive at a pivotal moment when he was perhaps thinking about leaving Sonny’s mob business.

This would also come at a time when fans were hoping to see Jason reunited with Britt Westbourne to rekindle the flame they had once started.
