‘Y&R’ Producers’ Poor Treatment Leaves Star Almost Homeless

Young & Restless fans are upset over producers’ poor treatment of their stars. News broke that one of their former stars actually ended up nearly homeless after being let go by the popular daytime drama. What are fans saying, and who have they reportedly mistreated?
Young & Restless Fans Are Livid After Star Ended Up Nearly Homeless
Fans are speaking out about how they believe Young & Restless producers have mistreated their cast over the years. One particular fan went to social media to share their views by mentioning a recent interview on State of Mind, which featured Rory Gibson.
The fan went on to say, “I’m just giving my two cents – I think it is horrible the way this show treats some of the cast members. They did the same thing with Paul, Allie, Imani, Chance, etc. They take them off contract, make them “recurring” never for them to be seen again.”
Fans chimed in and shared their thoughts on past characters getting treated poorly by the soap. They mentioned former cast members who were let go and claimed they were treated badly. One actress brought up is Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters). She alleged the show treated her badly, according to the social media platform.

Gibson started his career at Y&R as Noah. He had a contract with the show. But when the 2023 SAG/AFTRA strikes hit, he was knocked down to recurring. The calls came less and less, and the show ultimately let him go.
Rory shared for the first time publicly that he was left with nothing, and so was his fiancée, whose modeling career was dried up for the moment. Gibson went on to say they couldn’t afford rent and were essentially homeless. He said they were couch-surfing for nearly a year.
He’s Landed The Role Of A Lifetime
Now, Rory Gibson is working on General Hospital as Michael Corinthos. He took over for Chad Duell, and he’s been killing it. Fans are obsessed with how well he fits the character in every way.
One fan even noted that, really, Young & Restless did him a favor by letting him go because he’s the perfect recast of Michael. Most agree that Y&R didn’t use Gibson’s talent like they should have.
When portraying Noah on Y&R, Rory said that he wasn’t feeling very fulfilled. Now, that has changed. He said, “It wasn’t the most ideal situation for me. Whereas now (at General Hospital), it kind of does feel that way. I feel extremely fulfilled.”
Fans of General Hospital can’t get enough of Gibson.
What do you think about fans being upset that producers treated some of their cast members so poorly? Do you agree?
