‘General Hospital’ Maxie Collapses, Exit Storyline Begins

General Hospital fans have been eager to know what exciting storyline Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) would get as she takes a leave of absence from the show. Storms said fans will freak when they see where things are heading. Now, in previews for the upcoming week, it looks like things are kicking off. Fans know that Storms is returning at the beginning of the year, so she won’t be killed off. But that doesn’t mean other characters won’t think she’s dead. What is about to happen to Maxie?

General Hospital Maxie’s Storyline Heats Up

General Hospital spoilers revealed that Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) would be working hard to save someone close to him. Many assumed it would either be Stella or Monica. However, after seeing weekly previews, it looks like that person could be Maxie. In the weekly preview, Maxie is seen collapsing on stage during a broadcast about Deception.

The big question is what caused her to collapse. Maxie will be taken to GH, where she will be taken care of by Lucas. It’s been assumed that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) would have something to do with her exit storyline since she is the only one still wanting to turn information over to the PCPD about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) illegal funding of Deception.

There are a lot of possibilities about what could happen next. Let’s dive right in and explore them.

The chances of Maxie suddenly collapsing on her own are too coincidental. Even Sidwell can’t be that lucky. Sidwell has to have something to do with it. He may have given her drugs to make her collapse and make it look like her heart is giving out. Everyone will think she’s having issues with her heart again. Two things could happen next. Lucas could inform family and friends that Maxie needs another heart transplant to survive, and she is in a coma. It would be easy to keep her in an induced coma to keep her mouth shut. Sidwell can play dirty if he needs to, and he will do whatever he needs to in order to get what he wants.

Or, Maxie could be presumed dead, but really abducted by Sidwell so he can keep her quiet. She will be whisked away somewhere to be held. Would he perhaps lock her in the Cassadine basement or ship her off to the Five Poppies Resort?

Will Sidwell Let Her Live?

Kirsten Storms has been open about her decision to leave the show for a few months to get settled into her new home in Tennessee. She says she filmed all her scenes for the remainder of the year and will return later in the year or early next year.  Whatever happens to Maxie seems to be temporary unless showrunners and Storms are trying to pull a fast one over on fans.

Sidwell has to be behind her current medical crisis. Will he pay off a nurse or hire someone to sneak in and give her meds to keep her in a coma? Or keep her prisoner somewhere to ensure she keeps her mouth shut about Deception.
