‘General Hospital’ Confirms Ryan Paevey’s Character This Fall

General Hospital fans have been eager to know who Ryan Paevey is returning as this month. Everyone was stunned and excited to know he’s making a comeback after being gone from Port Charles for seven years. Writers and actors have remained pretty tight-lipped about which character he will be playing on the daytime drama. Now, in a new interview, co-head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten tease what is coming this fall, including the character that Paevey will be portraying.

General Hospital Introduces Ryan Paevey’s Character This Month

TV Insider spoke with head writers Korte and Van Etten to get the scoop on what’s coming to Port Charles this fall. A lot has already been happening, with the most recent taste of excitement being Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) getting shot by an unknown assailant. It doesn’t seem like the drama is going to end anytime soon, either.

The writers teased that there will be “Twists and turns, suspense and surprises — anchored with emotion.” They continued saying, “Port Charles is a powder keg. A single spark is all it will take to set it ablaze. But who will light it?”

Many new characters will be making debuts, including six-time Daytime Emmy Award winner Erika Slezak, who is best known for her iconic role as One Life to Live‘s Victoria Lord. There’s still no word on exactly who she will be. But it has been confirmed that it will be linked to the death of Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). She will have ties to the Quartermaine clan, and everyone thinks it could be her sister.

Ryan Paevey will also be making his debut this month. In their fall tease, writers confirmed that Paevey is returning as Nathan West. The writers said, “The full impact of Ryan’s return won’t be felt all at once, but you can bet that the Scorpios and his many friends will be reeling for a long time to come, to say nothing of Nathan’s original family, Britt, Nina (Cynthia Watros), and Obrecht (Kathleen Gati).”

They went on to say that “Ryan’s arrival means a huge new mystery and romantic chaos all around. How did Nathan survive his shooting by [Cesar] Faison (Anders Hove)? Where has he been? How is he changed? How will he deal with Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) illness? Who will help him pick up the pieces?”

Ryan said in a recent interview that he would not return for a vanilla storyline, so it seems this one will be very juicy.

Is Cesar Faison Alive Too?

Of course, if Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Nathan West are both alive, does this mean their evil father is as well? It doesn’t seem too far-fetched to think that Cesar Faison is alive and well, too.

Writers also teased the return of James Patrick Stuart as Valentin Cassadine. He was locked up in prison, but he is no doubt looking for ways to escape. Plus, he is ready to take down Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).

It looks like the fall will have plenty of chaos and drama in store for Port Charles.
