Erika Slezak Teases ‘General Hospital’ Details, How Long Is She Staying?

General Hospital fans have been speculating for months about the role that Erika Slezak would be playing on the daytime drama. It was revealed recently that she was on set and filming. Until now, her character has remained a secret. Now, since she’s making her debut, she’s opening up more about her role on the show. Plus, she shares how long she’s sticking around Port Charles.

General Hospital Welcomes Erika Slezak

The cast of General Hospital is excited for the opportunity to work with the six-time Daytime Emmy winner. Chris McKenna (Jack Brennan) was especially excited to see her again. On his Instagram, he said, “Just indescribable having Erika here. To be meeting my family after so many decades apart is incredible. My two mom’s and the mother of my son together. So grateful. #OLTL #GH”

The two worked together on One Life To Live many years ago. Slezak said she never saw herself returning to daytime after all these years. However, when her good pal Frank Valentini called her, she decided to hear him out about his vision.

Erika will make her General Hospital debut on Friday, September 26. It seems Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) finds Slezak’s unnamed character trespassing in the family crypt.

Slezak shared that this role is unlike any she’s played before. When she portrayed Viki, she was strong and confident. She revealed her character on GH is completely different. She didn’t say who she is, but many are speculating she’s a long-lost sister of Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson).

How Long Is She Staying?

While many are excited to see her back on their television screens, sadly, it won’t be for long. Slezak shared on her official website that she wrapped up her time in Los Angeles on September 25. She said, “The past three weeks have been an incredible yet exhausting journey.” She went on to say, “It’s been great to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. While this has been such a terrific experience, I am very happy to be heading home. I have missed my family, my puppies, and my pussycat so much. Working on GH was a wonderful experience, and I hope all of you will tune in tomorrow to watch me in Port Charles!”

Erika noted how wonderful it was to reconnect with old friends. Slezak also praised Jane Elliot.

It seems fans won’t be seeing Erika on screen for long, so it’s even more mysterious about what havoc she will wreak on Port Charles during her short stay.
