‘Bringing Up Bates’ Erin Bates Thankful To Be Alive 6 Weeks After Henry’s Birth
ringing Up Bates star Erin Bates is opening up on social media about her newest baby’s due date. Henry Blythe was supposed to be born on October 7, or at least that was his due date. But God had other plans in store for him and Erin. He was born early as a preemie at only 33 weeks. Along with that, his mommy, Erin, went through a traumatic birth, which continued to create complication after complication that would land her in the hospital for another three weeks. It even left her wondering at times if she would even live to hold her baby and take him home. Six weeks later, she has an update for fans.
Bringing Up Bates Star Erin Bates Updates Fans On Henry’s Due Date
Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates went to Instagram to update fans on her newborn son, Henry Blythe. She shared multiple photos of him featuring her as well. Erine continues to heal from his traumatic birth, which also led to her being in intensive care for quite some time. She shared a heartfelt message for her seventh child, whom she deems her little miracle.
Erin said, “Dear Henry, You were supposed to arrive today, but God gave us six extra weeks with you — and after all He’s brought us through, I’m just so thankful to be here together – alive and healing. You are our little miracle. 🤍#preemie #33weekspregnant #healingjourney #thankful”
Her mom, Kelly Jo Bates, commented on how precious the photos are. She, along with Erin’s husband Chad Paine, has kept fans updated on Erin’s health and asked everyone for prayers for both her and Henry. Their prayers have been answered as Erin and Henry are both home, and Erin finally has use of her leg again.

She Knows She’s Lucky To Be Alive
Erin Bates has been put through the wringer. After giving birth, she suffered from a severe UTI and kidney infection, which led to septic shock. While being aggressively treated for that, she suffered a traumatic seizure, which led to her leg not functioning as it should. Her family revealed previously that her condition was leaving doctors puzzled.
Now, six weeks later, Erin is on the road to recovery and knows she’s lucky to be alive. In an Instagram Story, Erin says, “I remember laying in the hospital bed thinking I would never have this moment with my new baby. I’m so thankful to be alive and to be holding him close right now. Life is such a gift. I hope I never take it for granted.”
