‘Bringing Up Bates’ Erin Bates Tearfully Reveals Henry’s Miraculous Birth Story
Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates is opening up to fans about the birth of her seventh child. She has said numerous times that the birth of Henry was by far the hardest one she had been through. Erin went into labor early. She endured lots of setbacks and complications that she is still continuing to heal from. Now, in a new video, she’s sharing what that day and the weeks following looked like for her and her family.

Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates is opening up about the scary times she endured giving birth to Henry and also the weeks following. Henry was born on August 25, much earlier than his early October due date. After his birth, Erin found herself facing multiple complications that would land her in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
In the YouTube video she created, Erin reveals clips of his birth story from beginning to end. She begins by saying she was hoping to make it through the video without crying, but that quickly changed as she tearfully shared her story. She admits that at times she didn’t think she was going to survive. Erin knows she is very lucky to be alive and expressed that to fans.
The mother of seven also thanked fans for all their support and prayers. She knows that without their constant prayers, there is a chance she would not have healed from the complications that plagued her.

The labor she had with Henry was longer than with any of her other children. She said her other labors had been less than six hours each. After more than twelve hours of intense labor, she opted to have a very low dose of an epidural so she could relax and get some rest. Eventually, Henry was born weighing 5lb 12oz. He was perfect, and Chad and Erin were overjoyed at their little miracle.
They were told that Henry’s delayed debut was partly due to the umbilical cord being tightly wrapped around his neck twice during labor. After his birth, things took a turn for the worse.

Erin Did Not Think She Would Survive
Erin Bates revealed to fans that she didn’t think she would survive. She first was fighting a severe urinary and kidney infection that led to septic shock. While in ICU, she experienced a very severe seizure that left her without use of one of her legs. According to the Bates family, the doctors were puzzled, and she would survive one complication only to have another creep in.
Chad Paine asked for prayers from fans, noting that he can’t lose his best friend. Erin’s future was unclear, and many, along with her own family, wondered if she would survive. Thankfully, she did and was eventually reunited with her newborn son and the rest of her family. It took more time and healing, but she is now finally getting her leg to function properly.
Erin revealed in Part 1 of the birth story that in the upcoming video, they will be answering fan questions and trying to share what they can about what she went through during one of hte darkest times of her life.
