‘Bold & Beautiful’ Scott Clifton Hints At Liam’s Death

Bold & Beautiful actor Scott Clifton did a recent interview in which he discussed the brain tumor nightmare Liam Spencer is enduring. Fans have been going back and forth in their minds about whether or not this is the end for Liam. Many have thought there is no way the soap would kill off Liam. Surely, he would be given a miracle cure just before the end, like Eric Forrester was. However, Scott’s latest words make it seem as though Liam will be saying goodbye.

Bold & Beautiful actor Scott Clifton’s character, Liam Spencer, has been dealing with an inoperable brain tumor. Fans have been convinced that somehow Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) will find a miracle cure as he did for Eric Forrester (John McCook).

However, in a recent interview, Clifton hints at Liam’s fate, and it is not what fans want to hear. During his talk with Michael Fairman, Scott says he realizes that Liam’s character had not had anything exciting going on for months. Writer Brad Bell knew it, too, and said they had to do something about it.

Sadly, that something was to give Liam an inoperable brain tumor. Whether or not Liam dies, Scott knew he wanted to tell this story with kindness and sincerity. He wanted to be sensitive, as there are really people in the world who go through this.

When talking in the interview, Fairman asks him if telling Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) will be another heart-wrenching scene for viewers. Clifton says what if fans have already seen his last interaction with Bill? He’s not confirming this is what happens but if it is, the impacts on Bill could be catastrophic.

He admits Liam is handling things much differently than he believes he would in real life. Scott left another hint when he said Liam is not really thinking about how angry some will be that he kept this a secret. Liam didn’t think that in their grief, they would be very upset that they didn’t get to say goodbye.

He Gives Even More Hints

Scott Clifton was also asked about his relationship with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). Will he remarry Hope and maybe leave behind a little Liam? Clifton shut down that speculation. He said this story isn’t about a romantic relationship. It’s about how Liam can make them feel his love after he’s gone.

Scott noted he’s very happy this has nothing to do with a Steffy/Hope/Liam love triangle. He’s thinking about his family after he’s gone, and it’s the most selfless thing Liam has ever done.

He was also asked if more people will begin to find out as Liam stumbles through this nightmare. Scott said he had to be careful about what he said but did he say that he thinks there will be a moment when that will not be applicable anymore and that’s all he’s going to say.

Clifton also said that many are thinking there will be some miracle cure. However, he said he doesn’t want to repeat John McCook’s wonderful story from last year. And, he doesn’t think fans want that either. He noted that writers know fans do not like the crying wolf storylines all the time. At one point in the interview, he even said that Brad Bell was not f*cking around.

The Final Nail In The Coffin

Bold & Beautiful fans might really be saying goodbye to Liam Spencer. Scott Clifton shared an unknown piece of information. He said that in a recent scene with Hope, Liam and she are hugging and Liam says to her, “Oh my God, you know, don’t you?”

This scene was done on purpose. It was the exact call back to Ridge and Caroline Spencer. It was the same scene with the same dialogue. Clifton didn’t know that until after the scene was shot and said it was a nice nugget to throw in.

Of course, he’s referring to the charm bracelet Ridge gave Caroline with like 20 charms on it. It was his way of saying he knows she won’t be there to get them all every year. She hadn’t told him she was dying either. Later, Caroline died in Ridge’s arms. Will this be the same fate Liam faces? Will he die in Hope’s arms soon?

Of course, Clifton is an actor and could be bluffing, as we’ve seen so many do before. However, his words and how important it is to him to get this right make it seem as though soon, fans will be mourning Liam’s untimely death.
