‘General Hospital’ Rena Sofer Exits Show As Lois’ World Implodes

General Hospital fans have watched as everyone comes at Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) for concealing that Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) is really her grandson. The Nurses Ball exploded when Gio overheard Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) yelling at Lois that Gio is Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) son. He announced his parents during his performance, stunning everyone in attendance. Now, Lois has to face the consequences of her actions. Is she really leaving the show?

General Hospital Rena Sofer Being Exiled By Family?

General Hospital fans are watching as everyone is coming at Lois from all directions. So far, the only kind response she has gotten from anyone has been from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Everyone else has ripped into her over her lies and deceit.

Of course, the anger Lois is facing from Brook Lynn is unparalleled and is crushing her. Plus, she knows that Gio is hurting as well. It seems impossible for Lois to come back from all this. Brook Lynn has already told her how unforgivable this is.

Will Brook Lynn tell her mother to get out of her life for good? It’s looking more and more like that may happen, which will force her out of the house.

A devastated Lois will most likely pack up and leave after the family has all but disowned her. While it seems harsh, this actually fits well into Rena Stofer’s plans.

Will Lois Leave GH For Good?

Earlier this year, Rena Sofer talked about wanting to semi-retire with her husband, Sanford Bookstaver. At the time, she said, “We kinda want to semi-retire, so my bucket list is building a home that we don’t have to ever leave if we don’t want to. There will be a big studio downstairs for my woodworking and ceramics, and a dog room so we’re able to foster and keep our animals and give them space outside.”

So, it looks like Sofer may actually be planning to exit the soap, at least for a while. It would not be the first time she exited General Hospital and then made a comeback. However, since her goal is to only be semi-retired, she will most likely continue playing Lois on an on and off again basis.

Fans may see Lois disappear into the night without saying goodbye to anyone. They are all angry and hurt, but eventually, the initial shock will wear off, and they will try to find her.

This is the perfect way to say adios to her character and also leave the door open for an occasional appearance.
