‘General Hospital’ Bombshell: Kirsten Storms Taking Long Break, Done Filming

General Hospital fans were shocked to learn that Kirsten Storms was taking a short break from the soap.  She shared she had a scheduling conflict and Nicole Paggi would be filling in for a few episodes. Now, Storms confirms her departure is more permanent. What did she share?

General Hospital Says Goodbye To Kirsten Storms

General Hospital fans found out that Kirsten Storms was going to miss a few episodes as Maxie Jones. Nicole Paggi filled in for her until some time in August.

Now, it’s been announced thar Storms leave of absence is going to be much lengthier. She went to Instagram to share that she wrapped up filming for the soap for the rest of the year.

Kirsten also shared the reason behind taking an extended leave of absence. She decided it was best for her and her young daughter to move out of Los Angeles.

Storms is packing up and moving to Tennessee. Her extended leave has been in the works since March. She spoke with Frank Valentini and explained her plans but also her desire to keep playing Maxie Jones on General Hospital. 

Kirsten also revealed knowing it could have been easy for Valentini to release her from her contract after moving out of the state of California, but they were very understanding.

Right now, there is no one official word on when Storms will return as Maxie Jones. However, she noted it could be in November or December. Regardless, Storms is done filming scenes for 2025.

Storms Teases Big Storylines Coming

Kirsten Storms also teased big things coming for Maxie Jones in General Hospital.

It sounds like Maxie has some exciting developments on the way. Storms said, “I promise you the storyline they have going on until my return to Port Charles is kind of incredible — you guys are gonna freak out, actually. Can’t wait to see the comments online about that.”

It’s possible the return of her on screen sister-in-law Kelly Thiebaud could have something to do with her upcoming storyline. Kelly will have her return premiere date in July. Most believe she’s returning as Britt Westbourne who supposedly died a few years ago.

Along with her announcement, Storms thanked ABC along with Frank Valentini for allowing her this time away from work.
