‘Y&R’ Eric Braeden Married Over 50 Years, Who Is His Wife?

Young and the Restless actor Eric Braeden has been married to the same woman for more than 50 years. He married Dale Russell Gudegast in 1966. Who is Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden’s wife Dale Russell Gudegast?

People shared everything to know about the woman who has stood by Eric Braeden for more than 50 years. Dale Russell Gudegast is an interior designer and met her husband in college. The two share one son, writer and director Christian Gudegast, and three grandchildren.

He met his wife while they were both attending college at Santa Monica College. She was an art major while he was studying economics and philosophy.

After college, she worked as a pillow designer and interior designer but she tends to keep her own career out of the spotlight. Eric said, “She went to a Catholic school.” He also shared that she “was well-educated, very steeped in European literature … so there was an affinity.”

The two welcomed their son just four years after getting married. He was born in 1970. Eric gushes about his wife saying she’s beautiful, understanding and forgiving. He added she’s a wonderful mother to Christian.

Eric trusts her and consults with Dale before making any decisions. He said, “Because Dale is so private, people don’t realize how much she influences what I do or don’t do. I make many decisions only after consulting her. She has been a supportive and calming influence in my life.”

He praises her for her support

Eric Braeden is very proud of his wife and all the support she has given him over the years. She loved and supported him before he ever became famous and well-known.

He said, “I have an enormous sense of deep loyalty to her and we’ve been very supportive of each other. She’s been especially supportive of me and given me a wonderful family.”

She’s been there for him through his cancer diagnosis and every other up or down he’s endured.

As for how they keep their marriage happy, he said they not only love each other, they like each other. They also share everything with each other and continue to have conversations.

A little about Eric Braeden

Braeden himself was born Hans-Jörg Gudegast. The Emmy award winner joined the cast of Young and the Restless in 1980. Through it all, he adores his family and is grateful for all of their support, especially his wife.

Eric is thankful to work with such an incredible cast. He also has no intentions of retiring anytime soon. So don’t expect Victor Newman to fade away from The Young and the Restless anytime soon.
