‘The Ring’ & Lilo & Stitch Star Dead Suddenly at 35

According to TMZ, the former child actress Daveigh Chase has passed away. Roy Hernandez, the actress’s boyfriend, tells TMZ… Daveigh passed away on Tuesday due to meningitis and a blood infection that resulted in septic problems and her body shutting down. Daveigh was reportedly admitted to a Los Angeles hospital earlier this month due to malnutrition.

Daveigh got her big break in Hollywood early on when she voiced Lilo in the popular Disney movie “Lilo & Stitch” in 2002 and the TV series that followed. Additionally, she provided the voice of Chihiro Ogino in the American dub of “Spirited Away.” Her eerie portrayal of Samara Morgan, the primary antagonist in the popular 2002 film “The Ring” for which she won an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain, will be familiar to fans of horror films.

Daveigh landed a recurring role in the HBO series “Big Love” in 2006. The show centers on a polygamist, fundamentalist Mormon family. Over the course of the popular show’s five seasons, she appeared in 32 episodes as Rhonda Volmer. “Donnie Darko,” “Beethoven’s 5th,” “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “ER,” “Mercy,” and more are among her other credits.

Over the years, Daveigh had multiple run-ins with the law, which we have discussed. When we last spoke with Daveigh in 2012, we asked her about her makeup routine and she shared her most recent endeavor.

Daveigh’s Boyfriend Described Her Final Days 

Roy Hernandez described how Chase’s diagnosis of meningitis and multiple “serious” blood infections “changed everything” in their lives. “The doctors have informed me that she might not have much time left because her condition has become critical.” A place where we could live together, feel secure, and be content was all she ever wanted. “I want to give her a sense of home and peace in her last days more than ever,” he continued.

“I know that everyone experiences difficulties, but I would be extremely appreciative of any assistance you could provide. I will also accept a prayer if that is all you have to offer. We appreciate your consideration of supporting us in this trying time.”
