‘The Bachelorette’ Taylor Frankie Paul Breaks Silence After Domestic Violence Allegations

The Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul is breaking her silence about the domestic violence allegations that have surfaced. There is an ongoing investigation in Utah involving Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. She and Mortensen share a two-year-old son, Ever. They have never married but have been on and off again since meeting. In fact, in the latest season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, it was revealed that Taylor slept with Dakota the night before leaving to film the hit ABC dating show. Now, just days before the premiere of The Bachelorette, these allegations have made their way around the internet, sparking tons of controversy and halting production for the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Amid the shocking controversy, Paul is now speaking out regarding the allegations against her. The Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul Speaks Out About Allegations

The Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul is speaking out following the newest public controversy that she is involved in a domestic violence investigation. The allegations are against both Taylor and Dakota. Law enforcement says they spoke with both parties involved on February 24 and 25. Since news broke of the investigation, Taylor says there is someone out there who does not want her to be happy. The timing of the release of this information is bad, with her season set to premiere Sunday night. 

Many think Dakota is responsible for the allegations going public. Dakota has not directly spoken to the media about the investigation. However, Taylor insinuated to Entertainment Weekly that he is responsible for the news going public. She spoke of her status with Dakota and said, “I actually took action about a few weeks ago. I’m just doing third-party everything — pick-up, drop-offs, communication — so no contact right now for me. I think that’s the best case, honestly, because clearly it’s just not to a point of us getting along, so I wanted to take the best action I could. … I didn’t want to bring anything to the public eye, making it a bigger deal for the sake of my son, and just everything about to come out. But that wasn’t the plan for [Mortensen].”

Paul appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday, where she once again addressed the investigation.

What Did Taylor Share With Followers?

Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul also said that the timing was hard for this information to surface. She said it’s all heavy, and it took everything she had to even show up. Although showing up amid the new headlines online was hard, Taylor says she is trying to focus on the exciting times ahead. She also said she knew without a doubt that she wanted this opportunity to be the new lead. Her only condition was being able to see her kids. Taylor was looking forward to the show, taking her out of her toxic lifestyle in Utah. 

Now, it seems her past has caught up with her. This isn’t the first time there have been accusations about Taylor and domestic violence. She was arrested in 2023 after allegedly throwing a chair at Dakota, which actually hit her daughter. At the time, Taylor was charged with a misdemeanor charge of assault, criminal mischief, and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child. Paul pled guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault, which means that if she complies with the conditions of the plea, that charge will be dismissed.

Paul acknowledged the fact that the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has halted production on Season 5, but states she doesn’t know for how long or why.
