‘The Bachelorette’ Season Cancelled After Taylor Frankie Paul’s DV Video Surfaces
The Bachelorette, featuring Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul, was set to premiere on Sunday night. All week, the leading lady was promoting the show while also defending herself against domestic violence allegations. Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, are under investigation in Utah after both were approached by law enforcement on February 24 and 25 regarding an incident between them. She previously said it’s heavy and really bad timing with the show set to premiere Sunday night. Now, a video from 2023 has surfaced and reveals another domestic violence incident that occurred in which Taylor was filmed being very violent. Her young daughter was present during the altercation and was accidentally hit by the metal chair Taylor was flinging around. Following the release of this video, ABC has decided to scrap Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette.
The Bachelorette Canceled New Season After Taylor Frankie Paul Video Surfaces
ABC pulled the plug on the brand-new season of The Bachelorette on Thursday afternoon after a new video of the domestic violence that occurred in 2023 surfaced online. The video released by TMZ reveals Taylor Frankie Paul going after her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Paul is seen grabbing hold of him while he films the incident, holding his phone in one hand while trying to get her off of him with the other.
Clothing can be seen strung all over the room as she reaches for a metal bar stool and flings it at him. He tells her, “your daughter is sitting right there.” One of the stools she threw accidentally hit her young five-year-old daughter instead of Dakota. The child can be heard screaming in the video. Dakota tells Taylor in the video that this is abuse.
Now, after the violence in the video, Taylor and Dakota were allegedly both ordered to undergo psych evals. Dakota maintains that his top priority is protecting the son he shares with Taylor.
Many were excited for the new season of the show to premiere. However, it ended before it ever started. A spokesperson for Disney Entertainment said, “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

There For The Wrong Reasons
Even before the domestic violence video surfaced, many felt the season of The Bachelorette was ruined. It was revealed in the newest season of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives that Taylor slept with Dakota the night before she left for filming the show.
The men from her season reportedly feel betrayed by everything that has gone down since filming. Along with The Bachelorette being canceled, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has also been placed on hold.
So far, Taylor has not commented on her season being pulled from ABC broadcasting.
