‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Admits Fault In Failed Marriages
Sister Wives star Kody Brown is finally accepting a little responsibility for his three failed marriages. Season 18 of the hit TLC show returns Sunday night and ahead of the premiere, the stars have been doing interviews. It’s taken many years for Kody to not blame everyone else for all the bad things that have happened within his family. What did he have to say? Keep reading to find out more.
Sister Wives Kody Brown finally admits fault
Ahead of the much-anticipated premiere of Sister Wives, Kody Brown is sharing what he thinks about his failed marriages. Could things have been different? He spoke with People about the situation and had a lot to say and responsibility to accept.
Kody said looking back there are a lot of things he could have done differently. He admits he could have put in more work to possibly salvage the three broken marriages. He said,
The process of this entire experience has a total rollercoaster ride. The rollercoaster was fun for a long time, even though it was challenging. We had a lot of challenges. It’s just moved to a place where there’s been a lot of heartbreak.
Kody knows at this point he could have done a lot better to at least make an effort. After noting that he could have done better, Kody said, “Every day I think about a place where if I would’ve managed things differently if I would’ve said something differently, we might have moved forward in a different way. It’s hard to say that because you get in a place where you feel like, ‘Is my life still headed the direction that it’s supposed to?’”
Why does he believe the marriages fell apart?
Kody Brown shared that he believes the marriages all became in jeopardy when trust began to fall apart within the family. He also shared that nobody was working together as they once had. Plus, he had become cynical about the future. Kody said, “The unraveling of our family was just me in that leadership position stopped seeing the optimistic future.”
When Christine walked out on him in November 2021 he believes it was a wake-up call. However, he still wasn’t compassionate enough to save his other two marriages. Kody said, “Every day you just forgive. Forgive yourself. Forgive others. Because we’re not going back to where we were. I have to accept that. I want to get to a place where I’m accepting that with a heart full of grace and love moving forward in my life. We’re all moving forward. We’re all seeking happiness, and we will all find it.”
It was in December that Janelle confirmed she had followed Christine’s path and left Kody. Meri admitted she too had left in January of this year.
Robyn Brown is the only remaining wife of Kody. He admitted he hit the bottom of the swimming pool and is slowly heading back up to the surface. He believes they will all find peace at some point. Kody said he and Meri have worked their way to a place of friendship and he hopes he can do the same with Janelle and Christine.
What do you think about Kody admitting he wasn’t innocent in the loss of his three marriages?
Sister Wives Season 18 premieres Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
