Jen Arnold shares sad death with fans

Jen Arnold went to Instagram to share that she and her husband Bill Klein were remembering how they used to spend their Sunday mornings. They used to watch journalist Charles Osgood on CBS. He was the host of CBS Sunday Morning from 1994 to 2016. He was known for his Osgood File segment which he often delivered with humor and even rhyme.

Sadly, Osgood passed away at the age of 91 on January 23, 2024. Sunday morning, Osgood was remembered on CBS Sunday Morning with a special segment. Jen tuned in to watch and remember as well.

On Instagram, she shared a short video of the television with “Rest in peace Charlie” written over it. Jen captioned her post saying, “Sunday mornings with Charles Osgood were our mornings… breakfast, relaxing, feel good stories @cbssundaymorning It was our 90 minutes of zen from the craziness of parenting & working RIP Charlie @reallybillklein”

Many fans commented and agreed with her that he was the best. Some said they stopped watching the show after he retired. This morning many fans mourned the loss of Charles while celebrating the amazing life that he lived.

Who was Charles Osgood?

The New York Times shared Charles Osgood’s death and said he was “a newscaster who told unconventional stories on the radio in unconventional ways — sometimes with rhyme, sometimes with humor, often with both.”

He passed away at the age of 91 at his home in New Jersey. His family stated dementia was the cause of death.

Many loved his segments which all began on the radio. The tribute honoring him on Sunday morning was perfect. One fan on X said, “My childhood memories of/with my dad are filled with him in our living room (him in his leather chair) on Sundays, watching CBS Sunday Morning and/or the day’s golf tournament. Meaning: many mornings with Charles Osgood. This morning’s special honoring him was so, so well done.”

Jen Arnold agrees with the sentiment as she and Bill also watched the fitting tribute.
