‘GH’ Recasting Dex Heller After Evan Hofer’s Shocking Exit?

General Hospital fans watched another fan favorite die when Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) suddenly went into cardiac arrest following surgery. Dex was stabbed in the park and appeared to be doing better when he suddenly faced the same fate as Sam. Even Hofer confirmed his exit from the show after fans realized he was a goner. However, many are wondering if Dex faked his own death. If that turns out to be the case will they be recasting Hofer’s character? Keep reading to find out more.

General Hospital Fans Not Happy Dex Heller Died

Fans of General Hospital really loved seeing Evan Hofer as Dex Heller. It was a shock to learn he was leaving the show. He revealed in a recent interview that he only found out about his character’s fate a few weeks before filming that final death scene.

He also shared that he has big plans for the future in the making but can’t talk about them yet. There is a lot of speculation circulating the web about whether or not Dex is really even dead. If he is dead then many are wondering if the writers could pull out another twin storyline. Fans discussed this scenario on Reddit. 

If writers do decide to bring in a twin or even have Dex rise from the dead, it’s entirely possible they want to cast a different actor for the role. It wouldn’t be the first time this has happened.

Is Dex’s Death Being Faked?

Other fans of General Hospital are wondering if this is all a big hoax. Is Dex Heller really even dead? Some think he could be faking to catch Cyrus in the act and nail him for Sam McCall’s murder. After all, before Dex was stabbed he had a run-in with Cyrus where he confronted him about being at the hospital on Halloween.

Cyrus swore it had nothing to do with Lulu. Right now all that anyone is certain of is that somehow the blood of Sam and now Dex Heller is on Cyrus’ hands.

This leads to yet another question. Is Evan actually leaving the soap? Evan Hofer has done exit interviews but so did Kimberlin Brown who plays Sheila Carter on The Bold and the Beautiful. Every now and then, soaps like to shock fans and this would be the perfect way to do it.

Hofer gushed about how much he enjoyed this opportunity and how much he will miss everyone. There seem to be no hard feelings at all. A hint that maybe he’s not really out the door?
