Kelly Monaco Makes Heartbreaking Speech

Fans are devastated fan favorite Kelly Monaco was fired from her role as Sam McCall. It seems like her character had so much unfinished business. An example is her relationship with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Many fans were always rooting for these two to find their way back to each other. They were endgame for most. Now, it will never happen.

Cast members have shared how difficult it was to say goodbye to Kelly. They were real emotions as the actors sat and told Sam lying cold in her hospital bed, goodbye. After those final scenes, Kelly Monaco made a speech to commemorate her last time on set.

Kelly started out by saying that she has been on that lot for 25 years. She thanked each and every one of the cast members and crew and noted they were like family. She even said they were not second family but first family.

Kelly thanked each and every one of them for the memories and the experience she will take with her for the rest of her life. She then thanked casting director Mark Teschner. She said he started this journey for her and called it a wild ride.

Kelly ended her speech by saying they have not seen the last of her.

Why Was She Fired?

The reasons behind General Hospital firing Kelly Monaco are still unclear. The actress was reportedly blindsided by the news. She has given hints that there is more to the story than has gotten out.

One of those hints involves Billy Miller who committed suicide more than a year ago. In fact, in one post, Kelly went so far as to say she was fired as retaliation. She noted at the time she would give a statement in due time.

Fans are eager to hear from Kelly after seeing her final scenes play out on screen. So far she’s not said a word.
