‘General Hospital’ Setting Chase Up For Show Exit?

Rumors are flying that General Hospital could be setting up Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) to leave the show. Fans have been witnessing Chase’s downward spiral since he became determined to prove Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) innocence. He continues to put his entire future at risk by protecting his ex-wife. Sadly, he doesn’t know she is the guilty party behind the shooting of Congressman Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

With his latest bad decision, Chase found Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) keyring and determined that one of the keys must be Drew’s house key, which means he shot him. Little does he know that his precious Willow planted the key on Michael’s keyring. Chase is so obsessed with this case that he even lost his PCPD badge, being suspended from the force. Chase, seemingly losing all grip on reality, has many wondering if the end of the road is coming soon for the once beloved character. Is Josh Swickard leaving General Hospital?

General Hospital Rumors Swirl Josh Swickard Could Be Leaving Show

General Hospital fans are wondering if rumors circulating on the internet could be true regarding Josh Swickard’s future in Port Charles. His actions have been very out of character for him. Some feel he is on the path of no return and will have a hard time making a comeback.

Fans have chatted on social media about his current state and agree that he is about to blow up his marriage, all for a woman who once cheated on him. Some have said if he continues down this path, they will be glad to see him leave.

One theory states that perhaps he’s needed elsewhere to help family, and he leaves since he realizes Port Charles has nothing to offer him anymore. This would leave the door open for a comeback should the writers choose to do so.

It’s important to note that while there are rumors out there, nothing has been confirmed by Swickard or ABC. Currently, Swickard is under contract and even jokingly said in a recent interview with Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) that he would need it written into future contracts that he cannot work with Dominic Zamprogna, who tends to make him break character and laugh.

Can Chase Redeem Himself?

If General Hospital writers keep Harrison Chase in Port Charles, can he redeem himself for all the madness happening in his life right now? It doesn’t seem likely that Chase can redeem himself at this point. He’s been suspended from the police force and yet continues to search for clues to prove that Michael shot Drew. He really wants Willow to get custody of her children.

However, there is one way writers could make Chase the good guy everyone once loved. If during one of his visits to Drew and Willow’s house, he happens to overhear his do-no-wrong ex talking to her new husband, Drew. Perhaps he will hear her talk about shooting him and then injecting him with drugs to keep him quiet. Fans would love nothing more than to see his images of Willow shattered and her go down for what she’s done.

Who knows, maybe she’ll turn her evil toward Chase to keep him quiet, too. One never knows what might happen in Port Charles.
