‘General Hospital’ Sam McCall Recast Coming, Reunites with Scout?

General Hospital fans are thinking that Sam McCall may be the latest character to return from the grave. Over the past few weeks, her name has been mentioned numerous times. Usually, when someone is mentioned repeatedly, it’s a big clue that their return to the screen is imminent. It wouldn’t be the first time a character turns out to be alive after being presumably dead and buried. The question is, if they do bring back Sam, who would fill the role? General Hospital fans think Sam McCall is returning to the show. Since writers killed her off last year, fans have hoped that Sam would make a comeback to the soap. While many hope it would be Kelly Monaco making the return, it most likely would not be. Things didn’t end well between her and the powers that be. She even threatened to share evrything but she backed out of interviews that were scheduled.

Monaco shot down speculation that she left willingly because of money. She says there is more to the story. Many believe it all ties back to Billy Miller as well. Chances are, the show would not welcome Monaco back after everything that went down. So, if she does return, who will be the person taking over the role?

There was a time when everyone also loved Lindsay Hartley in the role of Sam McCall. Past actors have been making comebacks, so it’s entirely possible the soap may choose to recast Sam with Hartley. She played the role well and would be welcomed back by most fans. 

So far, it’s all just speculation that Sam might return from the dead. General Hospital and ABC have not confirmed if the role is being recast.

What Would the Storyline Be?

If General Hospital does recast Sam McCall, what would the storyline be surrounding her return? There’s also speculation that Scout Quartermaine may be the one to find out that Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) is drugging Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). If she does, could Sam make a secret comeback to reunite with her daughter and help save Drew?

With Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) leaving the show for a few months, this would be the perfect time to have Sam swoop back in and save her children. Would the show move toward a Drew and Sam reunion?
