‘General Hospital’ Peter August Returns, For How Long?

General Hospital shocked fans with the return of Wes Ramsey as Peter August on Friday. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is being held captive, and with the help of Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Pascal, believes Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) could be alive. Things continued to get worse for Anna when, suddenly, Peter made his entrance. Find out how Ramsey feels about reprising his villainous role, as well as how long he will be back on screen.

General Hospital Welcomes Back Wes Ramsey

Fans have speculated that somehow Peter August would make an appearance and be involved with the mysterious project being orchestrated by Sidwell and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). Fans already heard the voice of Faison haunting Anna. Now, she woke up to see Peter standing in front of her.

She kept repeating that it is not real, as he told her that nobody in his family ever really dies. TV Insider caught up with Ramsey to get the scoop on reprising the role of Peter.

Ramsey said it was a surprise getting the call to come back. Stepping back into Peter’s shoes came easier to him than he thought it would. He said, “Not something that I was anticipating, but certainly I was ready to step back into that world and do what I could to help out my old friends.”

He noted that his portrayal of Peter was the longest he’s been in a role, so coming back was familiar to him. Ramsey said, “I knew it would be exciting and fun, and then the moment I got the material, it all just instantly came right back to life for me. Like riding a bike, it’s something you never forget when you’ve done it for so long.”

His Thoughts On Scenes With Anna Devane

Ramsey’s return allowed him to explore the dark side of Peter. The scenes with Anna were intense. He said that he always felt that perhaps Peter was often misunderstood. He is the product of his own making with the help of his father, Cesar Faison.

Ramsey said, “I knew it would be exciting and fun, and then the moment I got the material, it all just instantly came right back to life for me. Like riding a bike, it’s something you never forget when you’ve done it for so long.”

How Long Will He Be Back?

Sadly, it seems Ramsey’s return as Peter August is all in Anna’s mind. He said, “The moment they had me actually make physical contact with her was, I think, very powerful and frightening for both of us. I hope it makes the audience actually have to wonder, ‘My God, is he actually really there in the room doing this to her? How is that even possible, and what would that mean?’ That was really fun for me in that moment.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time someone was resurrected from the dead, should they choose to have Ramsey back for more scenes. Ramsey made it seem that this was definitely short-term to help move the storyline along. However, he did say that in the future, if they need him back as Peter again, he’s game to come and play with his friends.
