General Hospital fans have been upset for months over the death of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). She was a part of the show for so long and fans never got to see her end up with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) after all of their ups and downs. Now, there are clues that maybe she’s not really gone forever. What does new character Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard) have to do with it all? This could be the twist nobody ever saw coming.

General Hospital Brings Sam McCall Back In Shocking Twist?

Most General Hospital fans would love to see Sam McCall back on their television screens. Everyone was shocked when she announced she’d been let go from the popular soap. There were pleas from all over for writers to spare Sam and keep Kelly Monaco on board. The pleas went unnoticed and Sam faced an untimely death thanks to Cyrus Renault and his digitalis overdose, or did she?

Here is where Professor Henry Dalton comes into play. His mysterious character appeared in Port Charles carrying a briefcase that has everyone intrigued about what could be inside. Professor Dalton is also the subject of Josslyn Jacks’ first WSB case.

Goddard threw out a piece of information to fans so they could get to know his character a little bit better. His information seems more like a clue that perhaps fan speculation about a cloning story is really happening. Goddard revealed that Professor Dalton’s mentor and idol is Sir John Gurdon.

Gurdon is a Nobel Prize winner and is most known for his research in cloning and nuclear transfer. He also studied stem cells. He has successfully cloned mammals. So, going back to the world of soaps, where anything is possible, could Sam McCall have been cloned? The show has been mentioning her name a lot recently.

Even if it was Sam who died in the hospital bed, perhaps it wasn’t before some DNA was extracted to use for cloning purposes. There is speculation that if this were true, a Cassadine could be behind it all. If Sam were cloned, they could possibly make her into what they want her to be. Instead of sweet, loving Sam, fans could see a dark side that helps the Cassadines seek revenge on their enemies.

There is One More Possible Explanation

While it seems highly unlikely that Kelly Monaco would make a return to General Hospital, anything is possible. So, if Sam McCall was not cloned, that doesn’t mean someone else wasn’t.

There is speculation that if the cloning storyline comes into existence, it could explain another mystery that fans have been pondering.

Everyone has noticed that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is not the old Drew everyone knew. He’s dark and seems to be pure evil. Many have been speculating that he is Shiloh in disguise. However, what if it’s really a clone of Drew Cain mixed with a little of Shiloh’s personality? This would explain his obsession with Willow Corinthos and the children. It might also explain Drew’s medical file being thoroughly examined.

Could the real Drew be in captivity somewhere?

It’s yet to be seen which direction General Hospital writers are going, but all the clues seem to indicate a cloning story is in the soap’s future.

What do you think is about to go down in Port Charles and what is in Professor Dalton’s briefcase?
