‘General Hospital’ Liz & Dante Grow Closer, Trouble Brewing For Ric?

General Hospital fans have had suspicions for a few months now that writers might be trying to put Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) together romantically. There seems to be some undeniable chemistry between the two of them. Plus, they seem to trust each other. In recent episodes, Liz helped Dante gain more knowledge about the night Russ Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was shot on the pier. She also shared her suspicions that it was Rocco Falconeri who actually pulled the trigger. After each of them apologizing to each other for the situations they are finding themselves in, many wonder if this latest dramatic trauma could push these two even closer together. Here’s why trouble might be brewing for Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst).

General Hospital: Liz and Dante Next Hot Couple?

Although Elizabeth was at first skeptical about getting into another relationship with Ric, she’s now letting herself go all in. In fact, she and Ric are set to take a big leap in their relationship and go away for a romantic weekend together. He even worked with his now enemy and ex-lover, Ava Jerome (Maura West), to secretly purchase an expensive piece of artwork to present to Liz during their getaway. 

For Ric, things are going great. He proved to his brother Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that he is not betraying him. Plus, things are great with his daughter, Molly, and also now with Liz. Are things too good to be true?

Writers have been dropping hints about possible chemistry brewing between Dante and Liz. Since Liz knows the heartache Dante is now feeling, knowing that Rocco shot Cullum, she will find herself wanting to check in on him and offer some comfort. Dante is feeling betrayed by his family. Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Rocco have held tight to this secret and left him in the dark. He might feel the need to lean on his friend a little bit. 

Plus, Elizabeth might be on to something. When Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) was brought in having similar stroke-like symptoms just as Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) had just three months ago, it got Liz thinking that it was odd. Will she share her thoughts with Dante?

A New Mystery To Solve

If Liz goes to Dante with her suspicions that somehow Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) might be involved in foul play involving Brennan and Drew, they might work together to solve the mystery. Of course, this means these two would be spending even more time together. How long until these two share an unexpected kiss?

Who knows, with so much on Liz’s mind, she might even have thoughts of Dante while with Ric on their weekend trip. Nobody knows right now what’s to come of Liz and Ric’s new attempt at love. However, if writers are planning on bringing some passion into both Dante and Liz’s lives, now seems like the perfect chance. Who knows, maybe the pain of it all will send Ric back to his evil ways. 

While it’s all just speculation for now, it looks like there might be a new super couple brewing in Port Charles. Who would you rather see Liz with? Dante or Ric?
