‘General Hospital’ Kelly Monaco Breaks Silence After Long Hiatus

General Hospital fans are still not over Kelly Monaco being fired from the daytime drama after playing Sam McCall for two decades. Everyone would love for her to make peace with ABC and somehow return from the grave. Fans love it when they hear from Monaco, but sadly, she’s been on a hiatus for the past 14 months. She finally broke her silence and shared something on social media for her faithful followers. What did she have to say?

General Hospital: Kelly Monaco Speaks Out

It’s been over a year since fans heard from Kelly Monaco. She finally broke her lengthy silence on Saturday night. She went to Instagram to share some news with everyone. The actress shared a video with a caption that read, “Today I turned 50! There’s no place like home… coach @__monaco getting me back in shape. 💕”

The video features her working out and dancing on a track with her trainer. She was singing and dancing to Mary J. Blige’s “Real Love.” Fans and former co-stars commented on her post. Cameron Mathis, who plays Drew Cain, was one of the first to comment with clapping hands emojis. 

Others who commented are as follows: Kimberly McCullough (ex-Robin, GH) wrote, “Yes, girl, get it!” Monaco’s former on-screen sister Lexi Ainsworth (ex-Kristina) cheered, “Looking fiine as ever 🔥.” B&B star Rebecca Budig (ex-Hayden; Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful) chimed in to say, “Happy Birthday, beauty. Go go go.” Another GH alum, Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr/ex-Kiki) beamed, “Happy birthday to the coolest chick around!” Former GH love interest Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jax) also offered a, “Happy birthday Kelly!🙌”

Will Sam Return To GH?

Since everyone else is coming back from the dead, why not bring Sam McCall back as well? However, chances are, if Sam is resurrected, it would not be Kelly Monaco who played the part. Fans have shared their thoughts on social media, stating they would love to see Lindsay Hartley return to the soap. As for how they would bring her back, one fan shared their theory. The theory is that Angelica, who was Sam’s lookalike, actually kidnapped the real Sam and wanted to try once again to take over her life. 

Angelica had tried it once before, so why not try it again? If so, the fan theory is that Angelica was the one who actually died from Cyrus’ injection, and Sam is locked away somewhere. Other longtime viewers chimed in and didn’t really like the idea. Some noted that she should never have been killed off in the first place.
