‘General Hospital’ Is Kate Mansi Leaving The Show?

Kate Mansi played Abby Deveraux on Days of Our Lives for years. She left the show several times, only to return. But her last appearance on the Peacock soap opera was in 2020. Abby was killed off in 2022 when Marci Miller played the character. The show teased that Abby wasn’t actually dead, sparking rumors that Kate Mansi could return again.

Instead, she joined General Hospital as Kristina Corinthos-Davis in 2023. The role was previously played by Lexi Ainsworth. But now, rumors are heating up online that Kate Mansi is leaving the ABC soap opera. Keep reading to find out what’s going on. 

Kate Mansi Makes Huge Career Move

Kate Mansi has been in the entertainment industry for a long time. She left Days of Our Lives to explore other opportunities. In addition to her role as Kristina, the actress made a huge career move in late 2025 and she didn’t even have to leave General Hospital.

After a year of shadowing behind-the-scenes, she made her directorial debut in November 2025. But she had one request. “I was scared sh**less, but I said to him, ‘OK, I think I’m ready, too, but please, the only person I don’t want to direct is Laura Wright [Carly Spencer],'” she told TV Insider at the time. Kate Mansi admitted she was “intimidated” to direct her formidable co-star, but pushed through it. 

She also revealed that directing was a “passion” of hers that she wanted to pursue again. Is she leaving General Hospital to take a behind-the-scenes role?

2025 was a big year for Kate Mansi personally and professionally. She got engaged to producer Matt McInnis in 2024 after dating for several years. The couple’s friends and family gathered together on a random day in May for what they thought was an engagement party. But instead, it was a surprise wedding. 

Kate Mansi and her fiance tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony. Rumors recently swirled on social media that the actress was pregnant and leaving General Hospital. The speculation came amid Steve Burton’s surprise departure to spend time with his new wife.

Kate Mansi fueled pregnancy speculation with several emotional Instagram posts reflecting on her wedding. However, she hasn’t confirmed (or denied) that she’s expecting a baby. The rumors that she’s leaving General Hospital appear to be unfounded.
