‘General Hospital’ Beloved Character May Be Killed Off

General Hospital fans are talking online about the possibility of losing a beloved character. Based on certain story lines and the drama that continues to surround them all, it’s not out of the question. Sometimes writers like to throw a big wow moment into the mix to shake things up for viewers. Many have already said they will be very upset if this happens. Which fan favorite character could be next on the chopping block?

General Hospital is not a stranger to rumors and speculation. It’s also delivered its fair share of shocking moments that left fans picking their jaws up off the floor. This particular observation was brought up by a fan on social media. Along with the rumor, there are some very good points to consider. 

The original poster questioned if writers are setting up Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) to leave the show. He survived being held captive by his ex-wife and ex-girlfriend, so why would they kill him off now?

Lately, Ric has been getting his life together. He’s been making amends and is playing the good guy. Here are the reasons why Ric could potentially be on his way out the door. First, he and his brother Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) have been enemies. Now, all of a sudden, Ric is helping Sonny, and the two are getting along great. Things are also looking up in the romance department for Ric. He and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) just celebrated Valentine’s Day together. He even managed to get a kiss from her. Plus, he’s getting along famously with his daughter, Molly.

Ric has all this going for him, so what could possibly go wrong? Well, writers could swoop in and kill him if he gets in Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) way. Helping Sonny could prove to be deadly for the attorney.

General Hospital fans are split on how they feel about Ric possibly being killed off the soap. Here is what some of them said:

• “Nooooo! Oh, I love Ric and I am so glad he and Sonny are getting closer as brothers AND that he and Liz are getting closer!”
• “No. No. No. Not my silver fox.”
• “He is a keeper!!! Are you reading this GH decision makers??? Rick Hearst is a fan favorite.”
• “Nooo! People love Ric and they hate Ric. He’s polarizing and fun and entertaining, and nobody can ever say he’s boring. He has chemistry with everybody.”

Of course, this is all speculation, and Ric is probably not going anywhere. However, it would be typical for a soap to kill off a fan favorite just when their life seems to be going right.
