Dancing With the Stars Val Chmerkovskiy Lands Himself In ER

Dancing With the Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy found himself in the emergency room while out on tour with the show. He was forced to not perform after experiencing a health scare that shook him. Val went to social media on Sunday to explain to his fans what happened and how he was feeling.

In his Instagram video, Chmerkovskiy showed himself lying in a hospital bed, obviously not feeling like himself. He apologized to everyone and said there is a “small hiccup.” He went on to say, “I’ve just been having vertigo for the past couple of days. And had it yesterday. I was able to get though the show and then we ran some tests. And then, again, we’re on the bus so I guess… once that little crystal in your equilibrium — I mean I’m learning a lot — once it goes out, it’s really hard to get it back in.”

Val continued saying, “And so I’m just spinning everywhere. So on the bus when it’s moving, you know, I woke up and I just couldn’t get myself together. So hopefully tomorrow’s a day off, I’ll be back on Tuesday. Love you, thank you.”

He received a lot of well-wishes from fellow pro dancers, his wife, and fellow DWTS celebrities. Many shared that they have experienced the same thing, and it’s awful.

What Is Vertigo?

The Cleveland Clinic reveals that vertigo causes dizziness and makes you feel like you’re spinning when you’re not. It most commonly occurs when there’s an issue with your inner ear. But you can also develop it if you have a condition affecting your brain, like a tumor or stroke. Treatments vary and can include medication, repositioning maneuvers or surgery.

Most people do not need surgery, and it is used as a last resort.

Val has not given fans a new update since his initial post from the hospital.
